Well, let's look at the facts:
A.A. Milne introduced Tigger in 1928.
George Orwell wrote about Newspeak in Nineteen Eighty Four in 1949.
Which means that "TTFN" (Ta-Ta For Now) came around before George Orwell wrote about a new way of writing that removed all of the vowels.
